The room was excellent, well organised and with an exceptionally good bathroom.
The breakfast was first rate in range and quality.
The bar/lounge area was a little too small and dominated by a dimly lit bar with louder music than I would have preferred.
The location was extremely convenient for travel within and beyond Munich. But, as it is near the Hauptbahnhof there is a little more urban 'edge' than other central areas of Munich.

Great, huge room, good bathroom, massive bed, feather pillows and duvets. Not that much drawer space. Internet access steep at €21 per day. Excellent breakfast but a scrum as always too many people for the dining room to cope. Breakfast in your room is not included -ouch! €44 for two but good value if you can eat it all - it did us for sandwiches for lunch too. Great concierge service - will sell you train and tram tickets. Spa is free though we didn't use it. Staff very efficient, lovely bar, could have done with tea/coffee/water in the room rather than having to resort to the minibar or room service. 20 minute stroll to Marienaplatz down pedestrianised shopping street.
Top Tip
Great shops, lots of places to eat. Nymphenberg Schloss only 30 mins away on tram from outside central station. Maximum 60 minutes door to door from airport on S train and very cheap.

Our experience in this hotel was excellent from start to finish and it deserves every one of its 5 stars. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast one of the best we've ever had at hotels of this standard. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Comment
The hotel is VERY centrally located, only a few steps from the Hauptbahnoff (Main Railway Station), this is excellent if you are arriving by train as we were. The slight downside is that there are numerous hot food takeaways / kebab shops and several "sex" clubs near to the hotel although it has to be said that this did not create any problems for us. The location of the hotel was excellent for walking to the main town centre.
Top Tip
Munich is a fabulous city with so many things to see. We found the open top bus tour a good way to get your bearings and to get around the main tourist areas. The starting point for several of these bus tours is right outside the Hauptbahnoff, only a 100m or so from the hotel. 1. Marienplatz market place; 2. the main street (Kaufingerstrasse) containing the town hall / numerous street cafes; and 3. the English Garden Park are three must sees! One Italian restaurant recommended to us by hotel staff and which we found to be excellent food and value for money is Cafe Osteria, Mathildenstrasse 3, 80336 Munchen, tel 5509090. It is within easy walking distance of the hotel.
