The Platzl Hotel is housed in a 5-storey Bravarian gabled building. The lobby features tiled floors, patterned rugs and an oak-panelled reception desk, all of which combine to create a warm, traditional atmosphere. Here guests can enjoy coffee and cakes, while surfing the Internet thanks to wireless LAN. The 166 guestrooms feature neutral décor with large wooden headboards and checked fabrics. They are well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel's sumptuous recreation area is divided into three sections: a fitness room with treadmills and bicycles; a wet area with a sauna, steam bath and showers; and a rest area with a heat bench, light therapy and a solarium. Décor is in Moroccan style, with decorative tiles, rich fabrics and ornate frescoes. The hotel has three restaurants. The Pfistermühle restaurant serves fine Bavarian dishes and Ayinger draught beer in the lovingly restored vaults of a 1573 Ducal Mill. Ayingers Inn is a lively tavern serving traditional local dishes, such as Weißwurst (white sausage), roast pork and fish caught in regional lakes. It also has six Ayinger draught beers on offer. Die Platzl Bar is a small wood panelled bar, with blue leather bar stools and banquettes, which serves draught beer and cocktails.The hotel’s beer garden is open in the summer months.
